The Fixed Income Operations Associate assists the fixed income department in various duties to ensure accuracy and efficiency of trades for BSW & BSP. Responsible for accuracy and quality of all fixed income operations and fixed income data. 

Focus provides team members the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. Our hybrid model is defined as 3 days in office work required per week, while giving team members the option to work remotely 2 day per week, or as assigned by their team leader.

 

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot/solve any settlement problems. 
  • Monitor custodian daily alerts and take appropriate action as needed. 
  • Serve as liaison to internal trading staff to reduce settlement problems with custodians and delivering broker-dealers in order to minimize trade discrepancies. 
  • Monitor all trade settlements to ensure that bonds settle on the expected settlement date. 
  • Assist as needed in setting up new broker dealers that are added to our best execution approved list. 
  • Maintain the daily trade blotters including the daily trade discrepancy report.  
  • Utilize Bloomberg, Orion and other systems to enhance trading procedures. 
  • Conduct security research as needed. 
  • Undertake new projects and assignments as directed. 
  • Contribute to continued refinement of fixed income operations. 
  • Ensure that any special projects or additional reports that are requested are completed in a timely manner. 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance, or Economics 
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial services 
  • Series 65 recommended or ability to obtain within 12 months. 
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated positive attitude with the ability to work successfully in a team environment  
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle complex tasks. 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail 
  • Strong technical skills 
  • Willingness to deliver consistent outstanding service with a client service mindset that puts the client’s interests first. 

This position is a non-exempt position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $60,000 - $70,000 per year base salary compensation range. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k). Please note that the job title is subject to change based on the selected candidate’s experience and education.
