  • Assist Business Managers with clerical work such as cost changes, vendor promotional agreements, and maintaining filing systems.
  • Execute strategic business plans to achieve budgeted sales for private brands.
  • Develop forecasted sales and margin for promotional activity in accordance with category managers and communicate to represented suppliers.
  • Manage cost changes, new item surveys, and new item presentations.
  • Support category business planning processes.
  • Present to category managers: New items, Sales trends, Plan-o-gram changes, Retail pricing gaps, Promotional plans and marketing initiatives to enhance private brand sales and margin performance for assigned categories.
  • Support suppliers with deduction resolution by collaborating with the accounting and merchandising departments.
  • Manage relationships with Topco sourcing team and other key suppliers.
  • Support special events.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with a minimum of supervision.
  • Responsible for attending on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.
  • Ensure all aspects of company policy and procedures in regard to good business and department practices are followed.
  • Understand and follow confidentiality policy in regard to company information as well as personnel information.
  • Other tasks assigned for completion as assigned by direct supervisor or Company Executive Official.
  • Utilize time management skills and prioritization to accomplish tasks through management teams and associates.
  • Verification, completion, and distribution of vital department reports, management reports, documents, and paperwork via written, verbal, or e-mail to the appropriate individuals as deemed by supervision and/or policy.
  • Follow all safety and security measures and guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required with Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field.
  • Must possess a valid and unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the company’s insurance carrier standards.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in aspects of Business Management or Merchandising for a large organization, as well as managing associated supplier relationships.
  • Must have a strong understanding of sales, shrink, and gross profit.
  • General understanding of Merchandising and Marketing principles.
  • Ability to interpret, understand, and leverage data analytics to make decisions.
  • Ability to utilize a computer with various systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and handle interruptions while maintaining flexibility with attention to detail.
  • Ability and desire to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • Strong organizational, time/project management, and negotiation skills.
  • Satisfactory analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work a varied work schedule with frequent travel.
  • Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks, and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
  • Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours, during the typical work week, as well as extra time needed to fulfill job duties.
