Deli & Bakery Assistants

We’re looking for Deli & Bakery Assistants to join our team at New World Te Atatu. If you enjoy working with fresh food, take pride in presentation, and love helping customers, this is a great opportunity to be part of a vibrant and fast-paced store. 

• Part-time & Full-time permanent roles  

• Roles commencing 3rd August 2026  

• One weekend day working required 

• Prepare and pack bakery products to a high standard, ensuring quality and consistency 

• Price products accurately and maintain clear, correct ticketing 

• Merchandise displays so they are full, fresh, and visually appealing 

• Prepare fresh food such as sandwiches, salads, and other deli items 

• Cook and present hot food, including rotisserie chickens 

• Serve customers with friendly, knowledgeable service and product recommendations 

• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace at all times 

• Meet and exceed food safety and hygiene standards 

• Work collaboratively across both departments, contributing to a high-performing team 

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for fresh food and great service. 

• Ideally, you have experience in a kitchen, food production, deli, or bakery environment 

• You’re confident preparing food and understand the importance of quality, consistency, and presentation 

• You take food safety seriously and are committed to maintaining high hygiene standards 

• You deliver excellent customer service and enjoy interacting with a wide range of people 

• You’re proactive, quick to see what needs doing and get it done 

• You’re reliable, hardworking, and take pride in doing your job well 

• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of a busy, hands-on team 

• You bring a positive attitude and are happy to muck in wherever needed
