The Project Scheduler is accountable for the preparation of the schedule, and all required updating and preparation of reports. Responsible for planning and scheduling activities on a variety of environmental remediation, heavy civil and infrastructure, or specialty geotechnical projects. Develop and maintain multi-project integrated master schedules. Ensure schedule reporting is accurate, understandable, and effective. This role directly impacts the scheduling outcome over a broad range of projects in various stages of development and progress. Accountable for analyzing, monitoring, and maintaining the project's progress by preparing and analyzing reports, developing alternative solutions, and driving successful project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors, and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction.
  • Develop and maintain resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items, and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects.
  • Develop schedule logic and realistic activity durations.
  • Analyze available manpower and resources, commodity charts, trends, schedule variations, schedule performance, and schedule forecast.
  • Assess the impact(s) of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates.
  • Apply vast knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting.
  • Resource load by assigning specific resources (such as personnel, equipment, or materials) to various tasks or activities within the project schedule to ensure that the right resources are allocated to the right tasks at the right time, optimizing resource utilization and avoiding overallocation or underallocation.
  • Cost load to track and manage project costs over time, ensuring that the project stays within budget.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems.
  • May interface with clients, attend regular meetings.
  • Build schedules with input from Project Managers including converting MS Project schedules to Primavera.
  • Conduct critical path analysis for project schedules.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to support planned outages.
  • Schedule work activities, using the Critical Path Maintenance Management System.
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Two plus years of construction scheduling experience and have previously developed, created, and maintained at least two electronic schedules for projects similar in nature.
  • Hands-on experience using Primavera (P6) is required. Primavera training and/or Primavera advanced training preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, Primavera (P6), and project controls software.
  • Strong knowledge of construction tech, codes, and standards.
  • Familiar with cost control for EPC, JV, Lump Sum, T&M, and Maintenance projects.
  • Skilled in resource/cost loading and earned value management.
  • Experienced in project planning, scheduling, and critical path analysis.
  • Motivated, ethical, and safety-focused.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Team player with ability to work independently.
  • Excellent time management and organization.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Uses independent judgment and proactive issue resolution.
  • Responsive and customer-focused.

This office-based role requires frequent computer use and effective communication, with occasional travel to project sites as needed. Site visits may involve extended periods of standing or walking and required PPE, with potential exposure to heavy equipment, chemicals, dust, fumes, uneven terrain, and extreme weather.
