WHAT YOU WILL DO
Forest Technicians are responsible for providing support to project teams in all aspects of forest measurement, ecological assessments, and GPS traversing. Experience in timber cruising or inventory is a strong asset. This is a field-based position that will include out of town and camp work.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Must have:
- A safety conscious attitude;
- Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline (for example, geography, forestry, environmental science or technology), or 2 years of related field experience;
- Broad understanding of general forestry practices; and
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and the outdoors
- Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamic team environment.
- Able to safely complete physically demanding fieldwork, including extended hiking over uneven terrain, excavating soil pits, carrying field equipment, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
