Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding a Commercial Lines Account Manager to their Lutheran Trust team in St. Charles, Missouri

Job Summary:

The Account Manager is responsible for marketing and servicing large, complex, and high-revenue commercial accounts, including new business and renewals. This role analyzes insurance contracts, develops coverage comparisons, and works with both standard and non-standard markets. The Account Manager builds strong relationships with key decision-makers, gathers underwriting information, and may travel to present proposals. This position requires experience with commercial lines, underwriting guidelines, and internal systems, along with the ability to exercise independent judgment and respond to time-sensitive client needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Gather and review underwriting information and complete applications, as needed, on all new and renewal policies/accounts. Renewal marketing of existing accounts to multiple markets when deemed necessary. Moderate use of on-line rating programs to develop quotes on eligible accounts.  Perform insurance reviews to assess coverage options or needs for policyholders and engage in cross selling and the marketing of additional coverages.
  • Obtain and analyze quotes and develop proposals and coverage comparisons for new and renewal business. Request MVR’s and Loss Histories, Process Binders, Auto ID cards and Certificates of Insurance.  Recommend and/or suggest various loss control tactics when speaking with insureds.
  • Solve customer problems, review contracts, handle customer change requests, and respond accurately to customer queries regarding coverages and billings. Provide coverage summaries, premium breakdowns, and location spreadsheets, as requested.
  • Stay knowledgeable on current industry changes and on the underwriting guidelines of the companies with whom we write.
  • Maintain integrity of electronic files at all times. Keep producers informed of any special alerts on accounts and record claim information and follow-up with insureds and adjusters on claim status. Additional Duties as Assigned.

Competencies & Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrates the ability to use commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the Commercial Agency field.
  • Strong PC knowledge and aptitude.
  • Strong analytical skills required for detailed policy review and coverage comparisons.
  • Understanding of advanced insurance and risk management techniques. Compose written correspondence and factual reports, which are well organized and concise, utilizing proper English, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Perform simple mathematical problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, compute percentages, and ratios.) Must meet or exceed the ability to demonstrate the 5 core and common competencies outlined below.
  • Convey clear, concise information to others, using verbal or other appropriate communication techniques.
  • Complete formal training plan and assignments as required.
  • Very occasional travel may be required to client offices and/or educational seminars.

Education & Experience:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent education and industry experience.
  • Four years industry experience desirable.
  • Property/Casualty Agent License, current.
  • Industry Designations are desirable.
  • Experience with Applied EPIC Agency Management System a plus.
