A Construction project manager oversees all aspects of the construction process of a property. This includes end-to-end execution of construction projects, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. The role requires extensive on-site coordination with architects, contractors, vendors, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of site issues.They monitor every step of the process, which includes anything from reviewing building plans to making sure a project meets safety and environmental standards. Their typical duties and responsibilities include:
Coordinate with architect, client, supplier, vendors and construction crew to ensure feasibility of each project
Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality standards, design specifications, and safety requirements are met.
Monitor construction progress, identify delays or bottlenecks, and proactively drive corrective actions.Track procurement, material deliveries, and installation activities to avoid project delays.
Formulating cost estimates based on equipment, materials and labor requirements
Create the schedule for each project and match talent to the job
Process change orders
Resolve site-level technical and execution-related issues based on actual site conditions.
Review architectural drawings, layout plans, specifications, BOQs, and construction documents to guide site execution.
Strong follow-up with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of work.
Monitor workmanship quality and conduct quality checks throughout project execution.
Review contractor invoices, billing submissions, measurement sheets (MB sheets), and work completion certifications.
Assist in preparing project budgets, cost estimates, and monitoring project expenditures.
Preparing construction contracts for general contractors
After building completion, project managers may provide additional services for expansion and relocation projects.
Requirements
~1 min readDegree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, architecture, Construction Management or a related field, MBA or CAAD or similar
5+ years’ hands-on experience in construction project execution, site supervision, project coordination, or interior fit-out projects. multifamily residences
Strong understanding of construction drawings/ blueprints, architectural plans, BOQs, specifications, and execution methodologies.
Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures
Extensive experience in invoice verification, billing review, measurement sheets, and cost tracking.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, site processes and equipment
Excellent problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Ability to prepare project schedules, trackers, and progress reports.
