Staff Engineer

Position Summary The Staff Engineer is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for defining technical direction, solving complex architectural challenges, and driving engineering excellence across multiple teams. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong systems thinking, and the ability to influence engineering strategy without direct people management responsibilities. Key Responsibilities · Define and drive technical vision across multiple products or platforms. · Lead architecture design for complex, distributed systems. · Collaborate across engineering teams to establish standards and best practices. · Own resolution of high-impact technical challenges and critical incidents. · Drive scalability, reliability, and performance improvements. · Improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps maturity. · Mentor senior and mid-level engineers across teams. · Partner with Product Managers to align technical strategy with business goals. · Reduce technical debt and modernize legacy systems. · Provide executive-level technical guidance when required. Requirements Required Qualifications · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. · 10+ years of professional software development experience. · Strong expertise in distributed systems and scalable architecture. · Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams. · Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Go, Python, C#, etc.). · Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). · Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, databases, and DevOps practices. Preferred Qualifications · Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms. · Domain expertise in fintech, healthcare, or high-scale e-commerce. · Experience in platform engineering or internal developer tooling. · Strong background in performance optimization and security best practices.
