ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are looking for a Community Lead who will own Glance’s consumer-facing social community presence end-to-end — across X (Twitter), Reddit, YouTube, and Substack. This is not a scheduling-and-posting role; we need someone who understands how to build authentic, engaged communities for a tech product at scale, can navigate the unique culture and rules of each platform, and can turn community presence into a genuine growth and brand-equity lever. 

You will   work closely with the Tech Influencer, Paid Media, and CRM charters within Consumer Marketing. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Own and operate Glance’s Community on X, Reddit, YouTube, and the Glance Inspires Substack publication. 
  • Develop platform-specific content strategies that respect each channel’s native culture (e.g. Reddit’s no-promotion norms, X’s real-time engagement rhythm, YouTube’s SEO-driven discovery, Substack’s long-form cadence). 
  • Build and grow an owned community on Reddit — set up and moderate subreddits, run AMAs, manage community guidelines, and track sentiment. 
  • Drive X presence through trend-jacking, thought-leadership threads, timely engagement, and brand-safe participation in tech discourse. 
  • Manage YouTube channel operations: content calendar, upload optimization (titles, tags, thumbnails, descriptions), creator collaborations, and performance analytics. 
  • Oversee and contribute to Substack newsletter growth , coordinate with executive authors, maintain editorial calendar, and grow subscriber base. 
  • Set up social listening and sentiment tracking infrastructure using tools like Sprinklr, Brandwatch, or Meltwater. 
  • Create and maintain a community engagement playbook covering tone of voice, escalation paths, crisis response, and moderation standards. 
  • Define KPIs per platform (engagement rate, follower growth, share of voice, community health scores) and deliver weekly/monthly performance dashboards. 
  • Partner with the Tech Influencer charter to amplify creator content through owned channels. 
  • Collaborate with the CRM charter to feed community insights into the customer relationship lifecycle. 

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 3–5 years of experience in social media and community management, with demonstrable experience managing brand handles for a tech or consumer-internet company. 
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with X (Twitter) and Reddit as marketing and community platforms including understanding of Reddit karma systems, subreddit moderation, and X algorithm dynamics. 
  • Proven track record of building a community from scratch or scaling an existing one to 10K+ engaged members. 
  • Strong understanding of YouTube channel management , SEO, thumbnail strategy, content formats, and analytics. 
  • Experience working with newsletter/publishing platforms (Substack, Beehiiv, or equivalent). 
  • Excellent English copywriting skills — ability to switch voice between witty/casual (X), value-first/authentic (Reddit), and editorial/authoritative (Substack). 
  • Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools (Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Metricool, Buffer, or similar). 

NICE-TO-HAVE / PREFERRED 

  • Personal Reddit account with meaningful karma and participation history. 
  • Existing X presence or following in tech/product circles. 
  • Experience with community platforms like Discord, Slack communities, or Circle. 
  • Familiarity with social commerce and agentic commerce trends. 
  • Working knowledge of design tools (Canva, Figma) for quick social community asset creation. 
  • Understanding of GEO SEO and how community content surfaces in AI-powered search results. 
  • Experience in the Indian tech or mobile-first consumer product space. 

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES 

  • Platform Fluency — Native understanding of how X, Reddit, YouTube, and Substack each work as ecosystems, not just distribution channels. 
  • Community Architecture — Ability to design community structures, creator programs, rules, rituals, and engagement loops that sustain long-term participation. 
  • Content Versatility — Can write a pithy tweet, a long-form Substack essay, a Reddit AMA brief, and a YouTube description with equal confidence. 
  • Data-Driven Mindset — Comfort with analytics dashboards, A/B testing content, and using data to inform strategy pivots. 
  • Crisis & Reputation Management — Ability to handle negative sentiment, trolls, and PR crises calmly and strategically. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — Works well with influencer, paid media, CRM, and product teams. 
  • Cultural Sensibility — Understands nuances of Indian and global internet culture and can navigate both.
