As Custodial Supervisor, you'll split your time between working with the custodial team and providing day-to-day leadership.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside custodial staff to clean classrooms, offices, residence halls, athletic facilities, and public spaces.
  • Planning daily work assignments and coordinating custodial coverage across campus.
  • Training new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment, safety practices, and College standards.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and supporting custodial staff while fostering a positive team environment.
  • Conducting building inspections to ensure consistent quality and cleanliness.
  • Coordinating major cleaning projects, including floor refinishing, carpet cleaning, wall washing, and summer deep-cleaning activities.
  • Evaluating new custodial products and equipment to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintaining custodial checklists, records, schedules, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborating with other Facilities Management staff to support special events and campus operations.

This is a leadership position where you'll have a direct impact on the appearance of the campus and the success of your team.

We're looking for someone who enjoys serving others, leading by example, and taking pride in maintaining a beautiful campus.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Experience supervising or leading a custodial, housekeeping, facilities, or similar operations team.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, equipment, and safe chemical handling.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • The ability to motivate, train, and develop employees.
  • Good judgment, dependability, and a commitment to quality.
  • A customer-service mindset with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • The ability to perform the physical requirements of custodial work, including lifting up to approximately 50 pounds and remaining active throughout the workday.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered. We value practical leadership, initiative, integrity, and a positive attitude just as much as formal education.

This is a full-time, 12-month position.

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening, weekend, or overtime work may be required to support campus events, special projects, or operational needs.
