GoFundMe is the world’s most powerful community for good, dedicated to helping people help each other. By uniting individuals and nonprofits in one place, GoFundMe makes it easy and safe for people to ask for help and support causes—for themselves and each other. Together, our community has raised more than $40 billion since 2010.

Join us! The GoFundMe Pro team  is looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer to join the Donate team as a senior technical leader. The Donate team builds the hosted and embedded checkout experiences for GoFundMe Pro, our fundraising platform for nonprofits and social-good organizations.

You will lead several projects at once, help shape the frontend technical roadmap, and set the engineering standards the team builds to, treating code quality, test coverage, and observability as first-class parts of the product rather than afterthoughts. It is a role for someone who is energized by clean architecture, strong testing, and sharp observability, and who wants that craft to have a direct impact on causes that matter.

Candidates considered for this role will be located in the San Francisco Bay Area. There will be an in-office expectation of 3x a week.

  • Lead several concurrent projects and help shape the frontend technical roadmap for the team's checkout experiences, working with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Own frontend architecture: design component systems, state management, and module boundaries that stay scalable, testable, and maintainable, and drive down the technical debt and performance bottlenecks that slow the team.
  • Set and uphold the team's engineering standards for code quality, patterns, and code review, and continually raise the bar.
  • Own and evolve the team's testing strategy across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers, driving high-value coverage in payment-critical flows.
  • Build and mature frontend observability (monitoring, alerting, and log analytics), and own incidents end-to-end through resolution and postmortems, so problems are caught and fixed before they reach donors.
  • Champion AI-assisted development practices, such as agentic workflows and AI-assisted review and test generation, to raise both velocity and quality.
  • Mentor and grow the engineers around you, and partner with product, design, and backend stakeholders to shape priorities and represent frontend engineering across teams.
  •
  • 8+ years building, testing, and shipping complex, customer-facing web applications, including 2+ years at Staff or Lead scope (or equivalent technical leadership).
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • Proven ownership of frontend architecture that scales across teams and codebases, and a track record of setting engineering standards others adopt.
  • Advanced frontend testing experience, with a proven ability to drive meaningful coverage in business-critical flows.
  • Strong command of client-side performance and frontend observability (monitoring, logging, alerting, and log analytics) to diagnose, prevent, and optimize issues in production.
  • Ability to turn high-fidelity designs into pixel-perfect, responsive, and accessible interfaces using design systems and modern CSS.
  • Secure-by-default practices in payment-adjacent flows that handle sensitive user data.
  • Fluency with Git, CI/CD, and agile, iterative development.
  •
