The People Technology Integration Specialist is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable integrations across the People Technology ecosystem. This role acts as the technical backbone of interoperability between Darwinbox and external platforms (ADP, Netsuite, Snowflake, Shareworks, Slack, etc.), ensuring clean data flow, schema governance, and operational continuity.
Unlike configuration-heavy roles, this position requires strong integration architecture thinking combined with hands-on execution across APIs, data mapping, transformation logic, and validation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Integration Architecture & Design
•Define Integration Blueprint: Design end-to-end integration architecture across the People Technology ecosystem - connecting Darwinbox with IT, Payroll, FP&A, Equity, EOR (Employer of Record) systems and other complementing platforms; ensuring scalability, compliance, and a seamless experience across the employee lifecycle.
• Data Mapping & Schema Governance: Own field-level mapping, transformation logic, code harmonization (e.g., cost centers, departments, job codes), and schema documentation across all integrated systems.
•Business-to-Technical Translation: Translate Functional requirements into structured integration specifications with clearly defined data contracts that serve downstream consumers.
2. API Configuration & Data Flow Management
• API & Middleware Configuration: Configure and manage Darwinbox APIs, webhooks, SFTP feeds, and Amplify scripts to ensure secure, accurate, and timely data transformations and transfers across the ecosystem.
•Build & Maintain Analytics-Ready Feeds: Design statistical and headcount feeds into Snowflake and financial planning feeds into Abacum, ensuring aggregation logic is compliant, audit-safe, and structured for downstream consumption.
•Integration Enhancements: Maintain and enhance integrations by leveraging lifecycle event triggers, eligibility syncs, and reconciliation workflows.
• Environment & Version Control: Manage sandbox vs. production configurations, schema versioning, and release readiness across all integration environments.
3. Monitoring, Controls & Incident Management
• Proactive Monitoring: Monitor daily integration syncs, overnight jobs, and scheduled feeds across all connected platforms for failures or discrepancies.
•Exception Handling & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve integration failures (e.g., invalid codes, duplicate IDs, missing mandatory fields) with a focus on preventing recurrence across the ecosystem.
•Audit & ITGC Compliance: Ensure maker-checker controls, validation logs, and change management documentation are maintained for compliance and audit purposes across all integrated systems.
4. Data Integrity & Cross-System Alignment
•Master Data Governance: Ensure consistency of core attributes across Darwinbox and all downstream systems.
•Org Structure & Payroll Alignment: Support large-scale changes such as org restructures by remapping integration logic and validating downstream impact across the full ecosystem.
•Preventive Controls Design: Implement validation logic to prevent sync failures and data drift, ensuring the integrity of the integrated people data ecosystem at all times.
5. Documentation & Cross-Functional Enablement
•Integration Documentation: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation including data dictionaries, integration logic, transformation rules, system architecture diagrams, and process flows across the ecosystem.
•Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the integration point of contact for Finance, Payroll, Equity, IT, and HRBPs - translating technical constraints into business impact and vice versa.
•Knowledge Transfer: Enable People Tech team members and cross-functional partners to understand integration dependencies, data lineage, and downstream impacts across all connected platforms.
Requirements
~1 min read• 5 years of experience in HRIS integrations, People systems architecture, or payroll ecosystem integrations.
• Hands-on experience working with Darwinbox APIs, data extracts, integration schemas, and lifecycle changes.
•Experience integrating with payroll, IT, Finance platforms with understanding of GL logic, cost allocation, and statistical feeds.
• Strong capability in designing field mappings, transformation logic, schema validation, and reconciliation frameworks.
• Familiarity with ITGC, audit compliance, access governance, and integration change control practices.
