Summary: Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of the Goldfish Swim School by preventing and
responding to emergencies.

1. Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of
patrons in the event of an accident or emergency.
2. Communicate the rules of the facility to patrons fairly and consistently.
3. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
4. Ensures that medical services (EMS or other) are contacted by most appropriate means when necessary to
respond to an emergency.
5. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service.
6. Completes accident/incident reports as necessary.
7. Maintains a clean and safe facility as directed/assigned.
8. Assists with closing and securing the facility.

Safety Standards: The safety of our swimmers, parents and team members is of the utmost importance. Goldfish Swim
School follows all CDC and WHO safety standards along with following any local guidelines. In addition here are some
additional safety precautions and procedures we follow:
● Every shift has an on-staff cleaner to sanitize high touch areas in our lobby and pool areas.
● Our pools are disinfected with chlorine to provide the safest swimming environment
  •  The CDC states that proper operation, maintenance and disinfection of the water with chlorine should remove or inactivate the virus
● Our state-of-the-art ventilation system allows fresh air to continuously circulate into our building, further
minimizing the spread of any airborne virus.
  •  Industry experts note that indoor pools are far superior at minimizing virus transmission than most indoor spaces.

Education/Experience:
High school or college student with Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications. Prefer 6 months’ experience as
lifeguard at an aquatic facility or camp.

Certifications:
Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required and must be current. In the result that the certification
lapses or expires, the lifeguard will be removed from the assigned station until a current certification can be obtained.

Work Environment:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
