Gravity Well is looking for a skilled UI/UX Artist with a passion for creating highly intuitive and visually compelling UI for video games.
Do you geek out on graphic design? Do you find yourself analyzing the user experience flow and information organization of every game you play or website you visit? Then we want you! At Gravity Well, we prioritize the player experience and place a high value on exceptional visuals.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Create the look and feel of the game’s user interface including composition, visual hierarchy, typography, color and animation.
- →Support development by designing menus, interaction flows from wireframes, and storyboards to in-game implementation. Experience with Unreal Engine is beneficial.
- →Create satisfying and compelling experiences for players through the organizing and structuring of information within the interface to make it easy for players to find what they need.
- →Work together with designers, artists, engineers, and other relevant stakeholders to develop game features through the lens of the end user experience.
- →Help make strategic UI design and UX decisions, from launching the game through until the end of a session.
- Advanced visual design sensibilities with expert-level understanding of composition, typography, readability, and interactive UI design for games.
- Prior game development experience is required, supported by portfolio samples that show shipped or production-ready game UI/UX implementation.
- Exceptional understanding of what drives good UX and an intuitive player experience.
- Experience creating compelling transitions and animations within the context of UI.
- The ability to work autonomously and iterate from initial sketches/comps to final implementation.
- A strong collaborative nature that both takes and plusses the direction given.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with design tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, After Effects, etc.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine (UMG) workflows
The base pay for this role is: $110,000 to $135,000 USD per year (or equivalent in your local currency). We pay fairly across our global team regardless of your location but it will differ based on factors such as experience, qualifications etc.

We are primarily considering candidates located within North America (US and Canada), with priority given to applicants based on the West Coast. We have an office in California if you like to come to an office, but most employees work from home across different US time zones and that's totally fine.
As part of the interview process, we may ask you to take a paid test.
