Grey London, part of WPP, is on a mission to create the most influential brands of the next decade, through the power of Famously Effective ideas.

Famously Effective ideas extend far beyond the confines of advertising or marketing channels. They stretch our potential influence into wider culture – by breaking norms, smashing stereotypes, saving lives, changing minds, writing history, shifting conversations, and transforming perspectives.

More than just our tagline, Famously Effective is a shared global philosophy that has guided everything Grey has done since our founding more than 100 years ago. Today, more than 150 people work in our London office, with nearly 3,000 more throughout our global network.

WPP is the trusted growth partner for the world’s leading brands. We unite cutting-edge media intelligence and data solutions, world-class creativity, next-generation production, transformative enterprise solutions and expert strategic counsel in a single company – powered by exceptional talent and our agentic marketing platform, WPP Open, to help our clients navigate change, capture opportunity and deliver transformational growth. We’re seeking an energetic, experienced Account Director to join Grey London and WPP Team Vitale. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract working on one of the world’s most trusted oral care brands.

The role calls for independence, tenacity, and diplomacy. You’ll work with multiple senior client stakeholders, as well as local agency account handlers and creatives, driving collaboration across markets. Partnering closely with our Global Strategist and Creative Director, you’ll help develop smart local strategic and creative solutions that align with the overarching global vision.

For over 20 years, Sensodyne has leveraged a highly successful dentist testimonial model, supported by a globally validated toolkit developed for market-by-market rollout. In 2026, the brand is entering an exciting new chapter - evolving to be truly social‑first and tailored to local audiences.

At Grey, we have an exciting client portfolio, working with brands across a range of sectors – from health & wellness, to tourism, automotive, FMCG, telecoms, energy, sports & active wear – alongside pro-bono projects for charity groups. This variety will keep you challenged and engaged, allowing you to broaden your experience and have an impact on culture.

For this role, you’ll primarily be partnering with Sensodyne and working within their top 20 markets, helping them adapt and implement the global strategy to produce compelling local content.  Sensodyne has leveraged a highly successful dentist testimonial model, supported by a globally validated toolkit developed for market-by-market rollout.

In 2026, the brand is entering an exciting new chapter - evolving to be truly social‑first and tailored to local audiences.

As the Account Director, you will be central to every stage of a campaign, acting as the driving force behind its success. You will bring people together - across disciplines, teams and partners, ensuring everyone is aligned, motivated and working towards a shared goal. While you won’t be expected to do everything yourself, you are accountable for making sure everything happens, by the right people, at the right time and to the highest standard.

You will own the day-to-day client relationship at all levels, leading with confidence and clarity. With a strong grasp of both the strategic and commercial picture, you will champion creative excellence while maintaining accountability, guiding the work, shaping decisions and ensuring we consistently deliver our best.

  • Building and leading strong client relationships, alongside the wider inter-agency team of specialists and external partners, acting as the central point of contact and a trusted source of clarity, direction and sound judgement.
  • Becoming the driving force behind the work, both within Grey and the WPP network, and with the client, shaping the overall direction and ensuring all output is strategically grounded and creatively ambitious. You will confidently push back and sell in approaches, always anchored in the brand’s strategic principles. You will develop a strong working knowledge of local market regulatory challenges and how to resolve them.
  • Training new local market agency teams, upskilling them in our established strategy, creative and production models
  • Working closely with production partners, bringing a strong understanding of production processes to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
  • Owning the pace and rhythm of a busy account, expertly balancing proactive and reactive demands. You’ll deliver with excellence on what’s required, while also identifying opportunities to add value, improve processes and evolve ways of working for both the agency and the client.
  • Driving commercial excellence, taking ownership of annual workload planning across the account. You will be confident with forecasting and burn management, ensuring resources are managed efficiently and transparently (alongside the Project Management team).
  • Thrives in collaborative environments; brings a calm, solutions-focused mindset and embodies a true ‘one-team’ spirit.
  • Is strategically rigourous, accountable, resilient and decisive.
  • Pushes for culturally resonant work with a modern shape.  Must have full 360 experience, and know what good social campaigns look like.
  • Possesses strong leadership qualities; can drive the creative process whilst bringing the wider team with them with a compassionate style.
  • Is comfortable being at the centre of everything, able to look ahead to see the big picture and influence the agenda whilst remaining close to the day-to-day detail, ensuring basics are locked.
  • Builds and sustains strong client relationships, with experience working across multi-layered organisations (global to local), adapting approach as needed.
  • Is highly organised and commercially aware, able to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining control over timing and resources.
  • Is an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with strong presentation skills and a natural ability for clear, compelling storytelling.
  • Has experience in restricted categories (not a mandatory, but would be helpful), bringing additional expertise navigating regulatory requirements while still driving creative and strategic impact.

In Account Leadership at all peer levels, our main principles are:

  1. Creative hunger - We expect you to be deeply invested in the work, championing quality and helping create the conditions in which great work can thrive. This includes bringing strategic rigour and understanding to the process, so ideas are not only exciting but grounded and defensible.
  2. Partnership - Build strong relationships internally within your team, across the department and the wider agency, as well as with clients and external partners where relevant. You’ll play a key role in driving clarity and alignment, ensuring everyone is working towards the same strategic goal.
  3. Strategic impact - This is about delivering the best possible outcome while making the most efficient use of time and resources. You’ll apply strategic thinking to guide decisions, defend the work with confidence and know when to pick up the phone versus send an email - getting the best out of those around you.
  4. Energy - A crucial aspect of the role. Account leadership sets the tone in every interaction. Positivity, a can-do attitude and a willingness to lean in and move things forward are essential, alongside the ability to bring clarity and momentum to both internal teams and clients.
