The warehouse lead will be responsible for inbound/outbound shipments, coordinating drop-off schedules and maintaining both receiving/shipping areas. Communications with the other coordinators at the trucking services and compliance with all regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safe handling and storage of products.
  • Promotes safety through reinforcement of safety and PPE programs.
  • Works closely with both shipping and receiving departments to ensure the proper execution of all procedures relating to picking, packing, staging, shipping, receiving and inventory management.
  • Ensures trucks are loaded/unloaded properly on an accurate and timely basis by overseeing workload scheduling and delivery schedules.
  • Conduct physical counts of inventory and reconcile floor counts and inventory shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes, established company policies and procedures, OSHA (occupational safety and health association) compliance and FDA (food and drug administration) compliance.
  • Routine maintenance of forklift and other material handling equipment to ensure proper operation of machinery.
  • Ensures accurate data entry, lot tracking, and inventory placement using RF Smart.
  • Lead, train, and support the warehouse team to meet performance and safety standards.
  • Communicates discrepancies, damages, and quality concerns to appropriate departments.
  • Oversee and assist team with daily receiving operations, including unloading, staging, and verifying deliveries
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Warehousing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and housekeeping as assigned in the Master Sanitation schedule.
  • Follow the food safety plan, quality plan and company policies to ensure product meets food safety regulations and quality requirements.
  • Experience with SQF (safe quality food) and HACCP (hazard analysis critical control points) will be helpful.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 5 years warehouse experience with in-depth knowledge of all warehouse phases within a food processing facility.
  • Preferred 5 years of warehousing experience, in both shipping and receiving.
  • Preferred 3 years demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of warehouse operations including shipping and receiving, inventory systems, warehouse management systems, reviewing and ensuring accuracy of shipping and receiving documents.
  • Strong understanding of commercial food processing and food packaging equipment will be helpful.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
