Are you an emerging executive leader ready to step into a top leadership role? The Public
Energy Authority of Kentucky (PEAK) is seeking a Vice President who will serve as the
planned successor to the President & General Manager.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role with a defined path
to lead the organization.

About the Opportunity
The Vice President serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is a
designated successor to the President & General Manager of PEAK. This role offers a
unique opportunity to gain comprehensive exposure to the organization's strategic,
operational, and financial functions while working closely with executive leadership and
the Board of Directors. The Vice President will play an active role in advancing PEAK's
mission by supporting long-term energy planning, overseeing critical initiatives, and
building strong relationships with member communities and external partners. Over time,
this position is designed to transition into the President & General Manager role, ensuring
continuity of leadership and sustained organizational success.
What You'll Do
Executive Leadership & Strategy
• Partner with the President/GM and Board of Directors to develop and execute
PEAK's long-term strategic plan
• Provide leadership in evaluating organizational priorities, risks, and growth
opportunities
• Support enterprise-wide decision-making and contribute to policy development and
governance
Operational Oversight
• Oversee key operational functions to ensure efficiency, accountability, and
alignment with strategic goals
• Evaluate and improve internal processes, systems, and performance metrics
• Ensure continuity and effectiveness of daily operations across the organization
Financial Strategy & Capital Markets
• Support financial planning, budgeting, and long-term resource allocation
• Play a key role in structuring and executing complex financial transactions,
including:
o Tax-exempt bond financings
o Prepay gas transactions
o Long-term energy supply agreements
• Collaborate with bond underwriters, financial advisors, rating agencies, and legal
counsel
Gas Supply & Energy Program Leadership
• Support the procurement and delivery of natural gas to member communities at
competitive and stable pricing
• Contribute to the development and execution of long-term gas supply strategies
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to optimize supply and cost
structures
Stakeholder & Member Relations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with member cities, ensuring alignment
with their energy needs and priorities
• Represent PEAK in meetings with external partners, including financial institutions,
suppliers, and regulatory entities
• Support communication and engagement with key stakeholders and governing bodies
Board Engagement & Governance
• Participate in Board meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions
• Prepare materials and provide insights to support informed decision-making
• Ensure transparency and alignment between leadership and governance
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements
• Support preparation of reports, audits, and compliance documentation
• Monitor changes in regulatory or market environments that may impact operations
Leadership Development & Succession
• Actively prepare to assume the President & General Manager role through
structured transition planning
• Demonstrate executive presence, sound judgment, and leadership maturity
• Support organizational culture by fostering accountability, collaboration, and high
performance

• Proven leadership experience with readiness for executive responsibility
• Strong financial and strategic thinking skills
• Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or public-sector environments
preferred
• Ability to build relationships and lead in complex stakeholder settings
