HART is seeking a Route Maintenance Attendant to repair and maintain bus stops, shelters, benches, signs, park-and-ride areas, buildings and other agency equipment and fixtures. Your work will help keep these spaces clean, safe and usable for riders throughout HART’s service routes.

• See the results of your work at the stops and facilities riders use every day.
• Put your repair and maintenance skills to work on varied assignments across HART routes.
• Support public transportation through well-maintained shelters, clear signs and clean waiting areas.

• →Install, repair, replace and paint benches, shelters, signs and other route amenities.
• →Replace sign labels and maintain information kiosks.
• →Maintain bus stops by removing trash, cleaning glass, controlling pests, cutting grass, testing solar lighting systems and using a blower to clean pads.
• →Maintain safe, clean park-and-ride areas.
• →Travel HART routes to inspect bus stop signs and cleanliness and complete necessary repairs.
• →Use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices to make minor modifications and fabricate brackets, posts and other items needed to maintain route amenities.
• →Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Well-maintained stops. Shelters, benches, signs and other amenities are kept in good repair.
• Clean public spaces. Bus stops and park-and-ride areas receive consistent cleaning and upkeep.
• Safe repairs. You use tools and equipment safely and consider underground utilities and obstacles when installing signs.
• Dependable teamwork. You follow instructions, work with minimal supervision and communicate positively with others.

• Some general repair and maintenance experience.
• A Florida Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire.
• Knowledge of basic methods, materials, tools and equipment used to repair and install benches, signs, shelters and park-and-ride amenities.
• Knowledge of sign installation locations that avoid interference with underground utilities and other obstacles.
• Working knowledge of job-related occupational hazards, precautions and safety requirements, and how to care for materials such as decals, metal, glass and wood.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to learn the safe operation of equipment, including forklifts, lot sweepers and portable steam washers.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength and endurance when needed.
• Ability to work various shifts, hours and days and meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to interact positively with different personalities and work effectively as part of a team.

• A high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Forklift certification.

Equipment used in this role includes forklifts, lot sweepers, portable steam washers, maintenance hand and power tools, and measuring devices.

• Work in all weather conditions.
• Frequently walk, sit, stand and squat.
• Occasionally lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Use hearing, speaking, near and far visual acuity, depth perception and color vision throughout assigned duties. Visual acuity is necessary to perform all duties.
• May encounter occasional extreme noise at 85 decibels or higher in shop areas.
• May be exposed to mechanical hazards, fumes, odors and chemical hazards in shop areas.
