We are seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner(APN) Or Physician Assistant (PA) to become a part of our team! You will focus on providing high quality patient care as part of a healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

  • At least two years experience inpatient cardiology as an APN or PA
  • Strong clinical skills; able to see patients independently in the hospital setting
  • See a minimal average of 10-15 patients/daily inpatient setting
  • Perform stress testing (will train)
  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic cardiac illnesses
  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
  • Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
  • Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care
  • Reports to the Director of Clinical Operations, who is also an APP

Qualifications:

  • At least two years inpatient experience in cardiology as an APN or Physician Assistant (RN experience does not count)
  • Comfortable independently evaluating and treating cardiac patients
  • Proactive and receptive to tedious hospital and insurance credentialing process (takes at least 3 mo. for hospital, 6 for insurance)
  • Must have proof of prior malpractice gap insurance
  • Expert EKG interpretation
  • Prior critical care experience (nursing or NP) Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Experience independently performing cardiac stress testing preferred (but not required; we can train)
  • Start date determined by hospital credentialing if hired for the hospital first 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
