Job Summary/Objective:
The Patient Access Clerk provides basic, routine clerical support to the department, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering phones, sorting mail, filing, copying, and completing limited data entry tasks. This is an entry-level position designed to support day-to-day administrative functions. 


Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Welcome visitors and patients, ensuring a positive first impression.
•    Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate departments or personnel.
•    Collect, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages.
•    File, copy, and maintain organizational records and documents in an orderly fashion.
•    Assist with data entry and limited typing tasks as needed.
•    Provide information and respond to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
•    Maintain a neat and organized front desk or workspace area.
•    Perform additional routine administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.


Skills / Abilities:
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Strong organizational and time management abilities.
•    Proficiency with basic office equipment, including phones, copiers, and fax machines.
•    Ability to provide exceptional customer service and maintain professionalism.
•    Basic computer skills, including familiarity with word processing and data entry software.


Education, Certificates, and License:
Education:
•    High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
•    No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.


Physical Requirements:
•    Lifting: Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 15 lbs.
•    Mobility: Frequent sitting, with occasional walking and standing.
•    Dexterity: Manual dexterity for typing and handling office equipment.
