Key Responsibilities
- Provide One-on-One Behavioral Support – Build rapport through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement while maintaining a calm and supportive environment.
- Encourage Daily Living Skills – Assist with routine activities, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and maintaining an organized home environment.
- Promote Safety & Emotional Well-Being – Recognize behavioral triggers, utilize de-escalation techniques, and respond appropriately to challenging behaviors while ensuring client safety.
- Meaningful Engagement – Encourage conversation, hobbies, community outings (when appropriate), games, walks, and other activities that promote emotional wellness and independence.
- Communicate & Document – Accurately document observations, behavioral changes, and completed tasks while communicating concerns promptly with the care team.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Previous caregiving experience preferred (behavioral health, dementia care, autism support, mental health, or direct support experience is a plus).
- At least 1 year of caregiving or direct support experience preferred.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional during challenging situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if transportation is required for the case).
- Ability to follow individualized care plans and behavioral support strategies.
