Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with psychiatric, behavioral health, and medical needs.
- Assess and monitor patients’ physical, emotional, and behavioral conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Document patient care accurately and timely.
- Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral emergencies.
- Utilize therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Provide clinical guidance and supervision to assigned nursing support staff, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Maryland RN license
- Valid Driver's License
- Current CPR Certification
- Current Immunization Records
- Current Health Physical Examination
- Psychiatric, behavioral health, hospital, acute care, or related nursing experience preferred
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to meet all facility credentialing and background requirements
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Providing direct patient care and responding to patient needs.
- Responding promptly to medical, psychiatric, and behavioral emergencies.
- Working in a secure psychiatric or behavioral health environment.
- Safely performing assigned duties in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
