Outpatient Nursing Medical Assistant

Outpatient Nursing and wound care seeking a medical assistant that has knowledge with Cerner and insurance authorizations. Potential candidate must be able to draw labs from patients, be able to multi-task and be self motivated. Candidate must also be able to help with wound care and outpatient procedures when needed. Having knowledge with scheduling and registering patients in Cerner is preferred.

This position is full-time, days, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8a-4:30p, 32-40 hours per week.

Job Summary:

Performs the functions of Medical assistant and tech duties in the Outpatient Nursing Department in performing all assignments given by the registered nurse. Is accountable for all aspects in the delivery of patient care and clerical duties as assigned. Is responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and for promoting teamwork among co-workers.

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or GED Certificate
• BLS Required
• CNA program or minimum one year experience as a nursing assistant or EMT training

Skills:

• Basic computer knowledge
• Perform V/S
• Clerical duties
• Ability to work independently and with groups.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to operate unit equipment: computer, printers, fax machine, copy machine, telephone
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Good knowledge of medical terminology
• Use of correct terminology, spelling and grammar in documentation.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with various healthcare professionals, patients, families, and employees.
