Description
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Prepares, stains, and examines specimens for study to detect minute abnormalities in the shape, color, or size of a cell.
- →Conducts evaluations to detect abnormal hormone conditions and other pathological diseases processes.
- →Diagnosis negative slides and refers atypical, inconclusive, or positive cases for further evaluation; confers with supervisors and other relevant personnel on an ongoing basis about cases.
- →Maintains accurate records and documentation of samples and analysis to avoid patient mix-up.
- →Performs and records preventative maintenance and function verification of microscope and other equipment.
- →Ensures compliance with workplace safety, environmental, and/or infection control practices.

Physical and Environmental Demands: Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold,frequent handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, constant exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiationexposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safetyconsiderations, constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to50%, constant-51% or more)
