About the Role

~4 min read

Hermeus is seeking a hands-on, proactive Facilities Manager to lead facilities operations at our Atlanta manufacturing facility. This is a critical site leadership position responsible for ensuring facilities, infrastructure, and workplace environments remain safe, reliable, organized, and capable of supporting aerospace manufacturing, engineering, testing, and business operations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Facilities, the Facilities Manager serves as the primary facilities partner for the Atlanta site. This individual will lead day-to-day facilities operations, maintenance programs, space planning initiatives, site-level project execution, operational readiness efforts, and facilities financial stewardship. The Facilities Manager will work closely with Production, Engineering, Test, OSRC, Security, IT, Workplace Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure facility requirements are identified early, operational risks are mitigated, and facilities do not become a constraint to execution.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical facilities knowledge with a high level of ownership, urgency, organization, customer service, and business acumen. This individual must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities while maintaining a focus on safety, operational readiness, facility stewardship, and customer support.

  • Own the day-to-day operation, maintenance, cleanliness, organization, and overall readiness of the Atlanta manufacturing facility.
  • Lead, develop, and supervise the site Operating Engineer while coordinating the work of facilities contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for building systems, infrastructure, utilities, and facility assets, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, compressed air, and industrial utility systems.
  • Serve as the primary facilities partner to Production, Engineering, Test, OSRC, Security, IT, and Workplace Operations, ensuring facility requirements are identified early and operational risks are mitigated.
  • Lead site-level space planning activities, including capacity assessments, layout development, equipment placement reviews, space utilization evaluations, and facility reconfigurations to support evolving operational needs.
  • Lead the planning and execution of site-level facilities projects from intake through closeout, including scope development, contractor coordination, scheduling, execution oversight, stakeholder communication, and project documentation.
  • Manage equipment installations, utility connections, facility modifications, infrastructure improvements, and space reconfigurations while supporting facilities leadership on larger capital and strategic infrastructure initiatives.
  • Prepare and manage site facilities operating budgets and forecasts, monitor expenditures, validate invoices, maintain financial controls, and ensure effective stewardship of facilities resources.
  • Conduct routine facility assessments and support infrastructure planning efforts to identify operational risks, capacity constraints, asset lifecycle requirements, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead site response to facility emergencies, system outages, and business continuity events while promoting site stewardship, housekeeping, material storage standards, and overall facility condition.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in facilities management, industrial maintenance, manufacturing operations, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or similarly complex operating environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial and industrial building systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire/life safety systems, building controls, compressed air, and industrial utilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading facilities operations, maintenance programs, contractors, projects, and space planning activities within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing operating budgets, variance reporting, expenditures, vendor contracts, and financial controls.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing a CMMS or similar facilities management platform to manage assets, preventive maintenance programs, and work-order processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to assess operational risks, prioritize competing demands, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership.
  • Ability to respond to urgent site issues outside of standard business hours when necessary.
  • The salary range listed for this role is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including role scope and responsibilities, relevant experience, education and training, key skills, market data, and business needs.

At Hermeus, compensation is only one part of our total rewards package. We offer competitive pay, equity, and a range of benefits designed to support our team.
