The Category Manager will be responsible for the management and advancement of their assigned Category. They will work directly with the Sales team, and they also will help facilitate cross functional communication with Marketing, Product Management, and Supply Chain with the goal of increasing sales and profitability to drive sustainable growth of the category.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Defines and leads overall strategic growth plan for category segment to include:
- Market requirements and new opportunities
- Opportunities for product innovation and product enhancements
- Comprehensive competitive analysis regarding pricing, products, features, messaging
- Understand won/loss opportunities and sales trends and develop plans to address
- Develop, manage, and analyze annual category financial plans and growth targets
- Work with other category managers to develop broader, comprehensive plans
- Lead long-term category plans and work with product teams on strategic roadmaps
- Collaborate with sales and supply chain to ensure adequate supply of products
- Establish pricing strategies, financial targets, and business objectives
- Apply intermediate knowledge of practices, procedures, products, and systems
- Contribute to development of product marketing plans and campaigns to generate product awareness and demand
- Support sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise
- Streamline marketing asset development (sales tools and training materials) to support category sales in HexArmor’s key industry verticals
- Collaborate with Sales, Distribution, Strategic Accounts and Sales leadership to drive business development plans and product strategies
- Support Sales needs through category and product training, as well as individual requests
- Work with RSMs in the field to visit customers for training, opportunity creation and advancement, and to capture market feedback
- Partner with Supply Chain to align strategy with inventory planning and demand forecasts
- Provide timely opportunity insights and market trends to support forecast accuracy
- Collaborate with Planners to optimize inventory levels, product availability, and inventory health
Requirements

- Ability to assimilate a large amount of data and analyze to create actionable plans
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and CRM (Salesforce.com)
- Ability to travel 50%
- Degree Minimum: 4 year degree
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) a plus
- Experience: 5+ years of working experience
