HeyGen is on a mission to make visual storytelling accessible to all. We're building the future of AI-powered video and growing fast. We're looking for a video editor and motion designer who specializes in creating polished, fully animated videos that make complex ideas look effortless.

This is a craft-first, high-ownership role. You'll be the person who takes a brief and turns it into a finished, animated video that stops people mid-scroll. Product stories, launch moments, brand explainers, and social content — you'll build them from concept to final frame. If you can also produce, even better.

We are hiring for this role in our Los Angeles or San Francisco office. It will start as a full time contractor.

• →Produce polished, animated videos across formats including product demos, launch films, explainers, social content, and brand storytelling
• →Design and animate motion graphics from scratch, including custom visual systems, kinetic typography, UI animations, illustrated sequences, and transitions
• →Own projects end to end, from interpreting a brief to delivering a final, export-ready asset
• →Collaborate with marketing, product, and creative to develop concepts and translate them into animated video
• →Build and maintain reusable motion templates and asset libraries that help the team move faster
• →Adapt hero animated content into multiple formats and aspect ratios for social, paid, web, and events
• →Bring a strong point of view to every project, with original ideas on how to visualize a story, not just execute what's handed to you
• →Optionally produce live shoots and direct talent when camera work is part of the mix

• 3 to 6 years of experience producing animated video content, with a portfolio that proves it
• Expert-level proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro
• Strong motion design fundamentals: timing, easing, visual hierarchy, typography, and color
• The ability to build complex animations from scratch, not just customize existing templates
• A high visual bar and the taste to know when something isn't ready to ship
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving briefs and tight timelines
• Strong communication skills and the ability to take and give feedback clearly
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, design, and product teams

• Experience with Cinema 4D, Spline, Lottie, or other 3D and web animation tools
• Illustration skills or the ability to create original graphic assets for animation
• Production experience, including directing and managing live shoots
• Familiarity with AI video tools, including HeyGen
• Experience at a high-growth startup or tech company
• Motion design work in the SaaS, AI, or creator economy space
• Comfort using AI tools to accelerate your workflow without compromising output quality

Compensation Base Salary Range: $7-12k/month

HeyGen considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal equity, as well as location, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
