GRO RESIDENTIAL MANAGER
REPORTS TO:
Program Director GRO
SUPERVISES:
Direct Care Staff Leads/Direct Care Staff, Food Service Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors’ level degree, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, or other Social Science field or five years’ experience working in a residential operations childcare setting.
- Knowledge of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Minimum Standards for the licensing, contracting and operation of a Group Residential Program.
- Experience working in the Texas welfare system with children placed in foster care is highly desirable.
Primary Purpose: The Residential Manager oversees the daily functions of the Group Residential Operation to ensure the necessary staffing is met, the physical property is maintained, and compliance with Hope Haven policies and procedures is upheld.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Ensure compliance with Hope Haven’s policies, procedures, contract requirements, Texas laws and regulations, and minimum standards for a Group Residential Operation.
- Participate and facilitate in the implementation of the Treatment Model applicable to the Service Plans for which Hope Haven has been credentialed and contracted.
- Facilitate the implementation of the following:
- Therapeutic treatment services developed and provided by the Treatment Director.
- Medical Care
- Therapeutic treatment services developed and provided by the Treatment Director.
- Supervise and manage Direct Care Staff Leads and support the Leads as managers of the Direct Care Staff.
- Supervise and manage the Food Service Coordinator.
- Assist in crisis intervention and incidents as needed.
- Conduct staff meetings and/or trainings when necessary.
- Monitor and facilitate the residential physical plant that includes the residential home, surrounding property, equipment, and vehicles to ensure proper maintenance to provide an attractive, safe, and efficient living environment for residents.
- Maintain Direct Care Staff recruitment requirements, training requirements, position descriptions, qualifications, retention, numbers, and duties sufficient to provide all activities of contracted Service Plans.
- Responsible for overseeing, implementing, and monitoring the financial expenditures for portions of the operation of the residential program within the approved budget.
- Responsible for participating in various activities of Public Support for Hope Haven that are necessary to the organization’s mission.
- Responsible for communication and coordination with all regulatory activities and investigations in compliance to include enforcement and corrective action plans.
Position Requirements, Knowledge, SKILLS, and Abilities:
- Possess leadership and management skills necessary for the supervision of the Direct Care staff in the residential program.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and motivate others.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and possess good organizational skills.
- Ability to address a variety of adults and children with a range of personalities and problems, to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Possess a personality attuned to meeting the needs of children and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, children, parents, professionals, agency representatives and the public.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to effectively work under pressure and remain flexible as priorities change.
- Must acknowledge the unique Statement of Faith mission of Hope Haven of East Texas and respond appropriately to the cultural differences among the agency’s service population.
