Texas Hillel is seeking a highly organized, systems-oriented Development Operations Manager to help build and strengthen the systems and infrastructure that support our fundraising efforts.

Working in close partnership with the Executive Director, this role is responsible for ensuring that development strategy translates into consistent, high-quality execution. The Development Operations Manager oversees donor data, prospect pipelines, timelines, follow-through, and development coordination across staff and volunteer leadership.

This position will play a central role in supporting Texas Hillel’s upcoming centennial campaign and strengthening the organization’s long-term fundraising infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, comfortable managing multiple priorities at once, and excited to help build systems that support meaningful relationship-based fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of the donor database, including accurate tracking of gifts, interactions, and engagement
  • Build and manage donor pipelines, prospect tracking, and audience segmentation systems
  • Generate reports and dashboards to inform fundraising strategy and track progress toward goals
  • Ensure development systems and records remain accurate, organized, and actionable
  • Develop and maintain weekly call lists and engagement plans for the Executive Director, board members, and development staff
  • Track donor activity across cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal efforts
  • Ensure consistent and timely follow-up on donor interactions and next steps
  • Conduct outreach to a defined portfolio of existing and lapsed donors, including making calls and sending follow-up communications to support renewal and giving
  • Partner with the Executive Director on donor strategy while supporting execution and follow-through across the broader portfolio
  • Coordinate fundraising campaign timelines, segmentation, and workflows in partnership with the Marketing Manager, including year-end campaigns, giving days, and the Israel Block Party
  • Coordinate timelines, tracking, and follow-through for fundraising campaigns and appeals
  • Support implementation of Texas Hillel’s centennial campaign in partnership with leadership and external consultants
  • Monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve results
  • Maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines, reports, donor communications, and fundraising activities
  • Coordinate timelines and materials for grant submissions and reporting
  • Help ensure deadlines are met across all development functions
  • Prepare donor briefings, call sheets, and prospect materials for board members and volunteer leaders
  • Track outreach and follow-up activity across volunteer engagement efforts
  • Support coordination of donor meetings and cultivation strategies
  • Support stewardship systems and follow-through in partnership with development and engagement staff
  • Support coordination and follow-through related to donor events and engagement opportunities
  • Track assignments, deadlines, and next steps across development activities
  • Proactively follow up to ensure completion of tasks and commitments
  • Help create strong systems and consistent follow-through across Texas Hillel’s fundraising efforts
  • 3-6+ years of experience in development operations, nonprofit management, project management, or a related field preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with CRM systems (Little Green Light or similar preferred) and managing data with accuracy and consistency
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with senior staff, board members, and volunteers
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and willingness to take initiative
  • Comfort managing up and across, including ensuring follow-through from colleagues, senior leadership, and volunteers in a professional and structured way
  • Appreciation for relationship-based fundraising, collaborative work, and mission-driven organizations
  • Familiarity with Hillel and the Jewish nonprofit landscape preferred

  • Salary range: $60,000-$72,000
