Hiltermann Consumenten Financieringen (HCF) is the youngest member of the Hiltermann Lease Group. We are a fast-growing modern fintech company and trendsetter in consumer car-lease solutions in The Netherlands. We offer online, fully automated straight through processing of car financing without car buyers having to take out a separate loan with a regular lender. As our Java Developer you are responsible for maintaining, managing and developing our fintech platform. Your main focus will be the backend system, which is a cloud-based (AWS) application running on Java. This will include:

• Working on automating the loan assessment process, assuring that customers are able to have a complete digital experience and fast feedback

• Integrating third party services for assessment checks

• Implementing logic to approve/deny applications based on our credit policy

• Work in compliance with the Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM) , De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and European privacy regulation (GPDR)

As Java Developer you excel in teamwork, take initiative, and proactively seek solutions to technical challenges. You have a strong drive to learn and grow, always looking for ways to improve. Your customer-focused mindset helps you translate needs into effective technical solutions. You also need:

• Completed higher education (HBO/WO) in Computer Science, ICT, Software Engineering, or a similar field

• 5+ years of Java development experience (Java 17+ preferred); OCP certification is a plus

• Experience with NodeJS/TypeScript

• Familiar with Agile/Scrum, Design Patterns, and enterprise Java frameworks, such as Spring Boot or Jakarta EE

• Knowledge of SOA and service integration (message brokers, REST APIs)

• Familiar with DevOps tools (Docker/Kubernetes) and experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)

• WFT Consumer Credit certification or willingness to obtain it

Nices to have, would be considered a plus:

• Experience with integration tests (Junit, Cucumber, Testcontainer)

• Bitbucket Pipeline

• MySQL experience

• Knowledge of CQRS and Event Sourcing

• Knowledge of Domain Driver Design

• Proficient in Dutch
