Position Overview
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join the growing accounting team supporting a multi-property real estate portfolio. This role is responsible for preparing accurate monthly financial statements, reviewing journal entries, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting across assigned properties.
The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and highly communicative. While this role is expected to develop toward independent ownership of financials, it includes structured onboarding, hands-on training, and multi-level review support.
This is not a silent task executor role — we are looking for a team-oriented professional who integrates into our culture, communicates regularly, and takes ownership of their work.
What youll own
Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties
Review general ledger activity and post journal entries (accruals,
reclasses, corrections)
Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet tie-outs
Analyze revenue and expense activity and investigate discrepancies
Collaborate with regional managers on preliminary financials
Participate in multi-level financial review process prior to final approval
Ensure compliance with internal reporting standards and deadlines
Navigate and utilize Yardi (training provided if needed)
Maintain documentation and support audit readiness
Reporting Structure & Oversight
Reports directly to Accounting Leadership
Works closely with Senior Accountants
Financials are reviewed by 2–3 levels (Senior Accountant + Leadership +
Regional Manager) before approval
Expected to progress toward independent completion of financials with
structured oversight

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
1–3+ years of accounting experience (property accounting preferred)
CPA or CPA-track candidates welcome (not required)
ERP experience required (Yardi preferred, not mandatory)
Strong Excel proficiency
Understanding of GAAP
