The Data Analyst will drive informed decision-making by extracting insights from diverse data sources. As a key member of the Data team, they'll develop and maintain reporting and analytical tools. Reporting to the Data Manager, they will collaborate across departments, delivering actionable intelligence to support strategic initiatives. With expertise in data management and analysis, they'll ensure data integrity and accessibility, upholding the organization's commitment to data-driven strategies. As champions of insightful analysis, they'll play a pivotal role in guiding the organization in data-driven decisions. This position will be onsite at the project near Boise, ID.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $100,000 DOE + Incentives
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align reporting and analytics with business priorities, leveraging insights from multiple data platforms.
- Participate in the creation and continuous enhancement of dashboards and data presentation methodology, employing innovative data visualization techniques for impactful findings using Power BI, Excel, Smartsheet, and other data reporting tools.
- Aggregate and analyze data from diverse sources, ensuring comprehensive insights and synthesis across all organizational systems.
- Detect inconsistencies and incorrect data, then locate and rectify the issues.
- Oversee the creation and delivery of weekly and monthly reports to internal and external stakeholders, including executives and client representatives.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on data, reporting, and analytics tools, keeping abreast of technological advancements and industry trends.
- Educate and guide cross-functional teams on leveraging reporting tools effectively, aligning with organizational and project goals.
- Foster collaboration across departments to develop data products and tools, defining success metrics and delivering presentations that drive actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Serve as the reporting liaison for new data initiatives, coordinating with cross-functional teams while developing and refining Power BI data models and processes, providing expert consultancy to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Develop and document workflows, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge and data sharing and to ensure consistency in data collection, input, and reporting.
Qualifications:
Position Related Skills
- Experience using Power BI, Excel, Smartsheet, and other data analytic tools.
- Proven analytics skills, including data mining, evaluation, and visualization.
- Strong Excel or Smartsheet skills, with an aptitude for learning other analytics tools.
- Experience with Python programming and creating automation, especially within Power BI, preferred.
- Ability to independently lead data analysis resulting in digestible data visualization and modeling.
- Ability to dig into data and decipher how it can be used to create operational efficiencies and support data-based decisions.
- Ability to communicate complex information to a range of data-literate audiences
- Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations.
- Experience with data model design techniques.
- Practical experience in statistical analysis through the use of statistical packages, including Excel, SPSS, and SAS.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is beneficial.
- Familiarity with construction management software, such as Procore, is useful.
Professional Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Information Science/Management, or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience required.

- Five (5)+ years of professional data analysis and BI reporting experience, including statistical analysis preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Standing/Walking/Sitting: Workday is a combination of sitting/walking and standing.
- Legs: Must be able to climb stairs - 5% of the day.
- Hands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use.
- Vision: Visual acuity in near, mid, and far-range vision. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination.
- Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment.
- Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio.
- Lift/Carry: Up to 50lb computer/drawings- minimal.
- Bending/Twisting: Minimal.
- Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: Minimal.
- Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail required.
- Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments.
- Must use creativity, independent judgment, and organizational and problem-solving skills to determine the best method to accomplish desired results.
- Must be able to plan and organize work.
- Must possess strong organizational and computer use skills and have an elevated level of competency to read/write/speak English, interpret construction related documentation and communicate with coworkers.
