The Campus Bursar and Financial Services Advisor is responsible for performing general accounting/business office-related duties; with a strong emphasis on student support regarding ledgers, payment plans, and collection of documents. This position assists the Central Support Bursar’s Department to ensure students’ needs are met in a timely manner. The Campus Bursar and Financial Services Advisor will be cross trained in Financial Services to ensure students are prepared and ready financially to begin their enrollment. This position will support multiple campuses in the Hondros College of Nursing system and will require travel to the campuses assigned for this position.

The individual selected for this role will have a split schedule traveling to our Maumee and Bingham Farms Campuses on assigned days.

Reports directly to the Vice President, Operations; indirectly reports to Campus Executive Director; has no direct reports.

  • Develop and maintain College bursar policies, procedures, documents, and best practices.
  • Assists in audit preparation and provides information and access to accounting records as required.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Preferred
  • Two years accounting/financial experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Knowledge of office procedures and equipment
  • Knowledge of PC’s and appropriate software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact diplomatically with a variety of individuals at various organizational levels.
  • Ability to identify moderately complex administrative issues and problems and resolve or escalate to appropriate individual.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of basic budgeting procedures
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Aptitude for accuracy and detail
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work on simultaneous projects at once.
