Objective

To hire an energetic individual to assist the merchandising team in executing the merchandising plans in our grocery/DSD/convenience business. The position needs a take charge individual who can maintain individuals and give accurate and clear direction. The position needs to have a grocery understanding for product and category flows within a store location. 

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and adapt quickly to changing priorities, 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with store teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, execution, and follow-through.
  • Ability to read and execute planograms, floor plans, project documents, and merchandising standards in a dynamic environment. 

Education

High School Diploma and 3 years of experience in Grocery/DSD/Convenience


Responsibilities

The Retail Project Coordinator is a field-based position responsible for supporting projects throughout the company's retail footprint. Success in this role requires a high level of flexibility, independence, organization, and commitment to completing projects on schedule.

  •  Frequent travel is an essential function of this position, including regular overnight and multi-day travel to store locations.
  •  Work schedules are project-driven and may vary significantly from week to week based on store needs, project timelines, travel requirements, and business priorities.
  •  Must maintain schedule flexibility, including early mornings, evenings, extended workdays, and occasional weekend work when necessary to successfully complete projects.
  •  Must be comfortable spending extended periods away from the primary office or home location while supporting store projects.
  •  Must be able to manage multiple projects and changing priorities while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  •  Expected to take ownership of assigned projects and remain on-site as needed to ensure work is completed accurately and within established timelines.
  •  Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment and providing leadership and direction to project teams, store associates, vendors, and other partners.
  •  Regular attendance, dependability, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while traveling are essential to success in this position.
  •  Provide feedback to Project Manager and space planning on shelving initiatives that will improve our overall operations efficiency and customer experience.
  •  Personally manage a team while on site to ensure deadlines and expectations are met.
  •  Ensure that fixtures at store level are installed to expectations.
  •  Work with Project Manager to ensure that DSD Vendors are set up and arrive at new store locations as needed.
  •  Work with Project Manager to ensure resets and new store locations are set to expectations and deadlines.
  •  Receive feedback from operations teams and work with the Project Manager to create action plans to resolve concerns/opportunities
  •  Additional projects/duties as assigned.

Career Success Strength

Possess excellent oral and written communication, organizational, analytical and multi-tasking skills. A self-starter with proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must demonstrate flexibility, initiative, good judgment, a sense of urgency and a strong attention to detail. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint). Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be able to manage constant organizational change.
