Position Overview
This role shapes and executes HP’s Windows operating system strategy across Consumer, Commercial, Gaming, and Workstation portfolios, with responsibility for platform planning, new feature assessment, roadmap alignment, and Microsoft partnership engagement. The team serves as HP’s primary technical interface with Microsoft, helping evaluate future Windows platform capabilities, support feature adoption decisions, ensure platform readiness, and influence product experiences across HP’s PC portfolio.
The role requires strong strategic planning, Windows platform expertise, technical consultation, and stakeholder collaboration skills to accelerate innovation, support business objectives, and deliver differentiated Windows experiences for HP customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate the evaluation, planning, and readiness assessment of emerging Windows hardware features and technologies, including Windows Unmetered Intelligence, Edge AI and Agentic OS experiences, Display and HDR technologies, Audio, Sensors, Gaming, and related platform innovations.
• Partner with Microsoft and internal engineering teams to assess technical feasibility, platform readiness, business value, and adoption priorities for new Windows capabilities.
• Review and coordinate proof-of-concept activities to evaluate feature readiness, platform requirements, deployment considerations, and customer impact.
• Facilitate technical collaboration and communication across HP, Microsoft, and industry partner engineering teams to support platform planning and strategic decision-making.
• Assess and communicate Microsoft policies, platform requirements, certification programs, and regulatory obligations. Coordinate discussions regarding exceptions, risk evaluation, and compliance considerations when necessary.
• Provide consultation and guidance to internal teams on Microsoft technologies, platform requirements, best practices, strategic roadmaps, and future platform directions.
• Promote knowledge sharing and capability development across organizations to improve awareness of Windows platform changes and emerging technologies.
• Communicate program status, planning updates, risks, issue analysis, and recommendations to management and key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows architecture across x86 and ARM platforms, including driver and firmware requirements.
• Familiarity with hardware platforms and ecosystem technologies from Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, and NVIDIA.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and the ability to evaluate complex technical and business considerations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with one or more on-device AI technologies, including Agentic AI frameworks, Windows AI Stack, ONNX Runtime, Windows ML, Foundry Local, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of AI workload optimization across CPU, GPU, and NPU architectures.
• Knowledge of Windows software development, debugging, validation, or platform engineering practices.
• Experience working closely with Microsoft or strategic technology partners on platform planning, readiness, or feature adoption programs.
• Strong program management skills and the ability to coordinate cross-functional engineering initiatives.
