About the Role

  • Explore innovative photonic technologies and contribute to the development of advanced interconnects and system-level optimizations.

  • Contribute to research and evaluation of optical and photonic technologies for AI compute interconnects.

  • Analyze technology trends and support feasibility studies on applying optics to distributed AI workloads.

  • Assist in prototyping, testing, and validating new concepts in collaboration with design and product teams.

  • Support modeling of system-level performance and explore how photonic advances can improve computing efficiency.

  • Document findings and contribute to technical discussions and reports.

The total target annual compensation for this position ranges from $106,000 to $156,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Photonics, Optical Engineering, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience in at least one area: photonic integration, optical interconnects, fiber optics, or optical telecommunication systems.

  • Familiarity with AI computing (e.g., GPU clusters for LLM training) and an interest in how compute requirements connect to interconnect technologies.

  • Ability to learn quickly and contribute to cross-disciplinary projects.

  • Industry or project related experience in optical communication systems, photonics, or system-level optimization is an asset.

  • Expertise in LLM and AI computing at scale is an asset.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to collaborate across teams is an asset.
