Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Product Owner to lead the evolution of modern, event-driven enterprise applications. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology, partnering closely with engineering teams, architects, and business stakeholders to define, prioritize, and deliver solutions that create measurable business value.

The ideal candidate combines strong Product Owner/Product Management experience with a solid technical foundation, particularly around APIs, Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), and software delivery practices. This individual will own product backlogs, drive requirements definition, and guide teams through the full software development lifecycle.

Experience within highly regulated environments such as Banking, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Insurance is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business challenges and market opportunities, translating them into actionable product initiatives.

  • Define product vision, roadmap, and feature priorities.

  • Manage multiple initiatives while maintaining alignment with business objectives.

  • Prioritize the product backlog based on customer value, business impact, and ROI.

  • Own and maintain a prioritized product backlog.

  • Create and refine epics, features, and user stories.

  • Collaborate with development teams to break down large initiatives into deliverable work items.

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Partner closely with architects and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.

  • Support initiatives involving APIs, integrations, and Event-Driven Architectures.

  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.

  • Bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Facilitate requirements gathering and business process discussions.

  • Communicate roadmap, product capabilities, and delivery progress to stakeholders.

  • Represent customer needs and business priorities throughout the development process.

  • Develop deep domain knowledge and serve as a trusted product advisor.

  • Coach and mentor team members.

  • Foster collaboration across product, business, and engineering teams.

  • Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting software delivery

  • Experience working in Agile environments

  • Understanding of APIs and integration patterns

  • Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) concepts

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables

  • Previous application development experience

  • Experience with microservices architectures

  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Healthcare, or other regulated industries

  • Leadership or team mentoring experience

  • Experience working with distributed systems and enterprise integration platforms

  • Product Owner/Product Manager experience within a software development environment

  • Experience supporting API-based platforms and integration initiatives

  • Familiarity with Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), messaging systems, or asynchronous architectures

  • Strong Agile backlog ownership experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both executives and engineering teams

  • Experience balancing business priorities with technical constraints

  • Background in Financial Services or another regulated industry
