Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.   Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking a Food Service Innovation Specialist for the Farm Animal Protection department. In this position you will assist in advancing relationships with committed/pledged corporations and large-scale food service operations to purchase and serve more plant-based foods and fewer animal products on menus. You will provide day-to-day support across the team, serving as a project manager for internal team projects.   Responsibilities: Institutional assistance: Leads the engagement with and strategy for committed/pledged self-operated food service accounts by delivering and maintaining customized plant-based programs and initiatives, marketing programs, culinary recipes, trainings and events, collecting data for progress reporting and more to ensure that committed/pledged self-operated accounts successfully reach their goals; Project management: Acts as a project manager to maintain and manage general team resource development and carry out strategies and initiatives inclusive of, but not limited to, social media and website management, menu of services, event toolkits, media talking points, and press releases, to further the advancement of the food service industry and corporations goals of reducing animal products and increasing plant-based options; Company assistance: supports the Food Service Innovation managers with researching, establishing and advancing relationships with the top food service management corporations by driving the development and distribution of the Protein Sustainability Scorecard Survey and similar projects; Collaborates with team members to brainstorm creative ways to engage with, persuade and influence these contacts defined above to reduce animal products and increase plant-based options; Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned, including continuing education.   Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in nutrition and/or dietetics, project management or another related field, or equivalent work experience required;  A minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of experience in food and nutrition industry and/or project management roles, and/or advocacy required; Strong knowledge of food and foodservice industry procurement a plus; Strong knowledge about factory farming, nutrition/health, and environmental issues a plus; Strong knowledge about project management and event coordination a plus; Must be willing and able to travel; A valid driver’s license is required and a clean driving record is strongly preferred, with the ability to demonstrate and maintain a safe driving record while employed; Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive; Ability to multitask and be flexible regarding workload and assignments; Ability to exercise sound judgment; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes; Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member in a team environment; Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.   This is a full-time remote position based in the United States.
