About the Role
A warm, faith-centered Ohio family of six is looking for a highly capable Home Manager and Family Assistant to become a trusted extension of their household. Think of it as bringing five-star, hospitality-level care into a private home: a calm, beautifully run environment where needs are anticipated, spaces stay organized, and things are handled before anyone has to ask.
This is not a traditional housekeeping role. The family wants a strategic household operator who takes true ownership of daily operations, reduces the mental load the parents carry, and creates more freedom for the family to enjoy time together. The right person brings solutions rather than questions and naturally becomes a trusted partner in the family's day-to-day life.
At HUM Home, we build stable, long-term careers for people who love creating order and caring for families. When a home runs smoothly, the family inside it thrives, and you are the one who makes that possible.
What You Will Own
Own daily operations and resets across a 3,500 square foot, four-bedroom home
Maintain consistently high organizational standards throughout every living space
Manage laundry start to finish: washing, drying, folding, stain treatment, ironing as needed, and putting away
Make beds and keep the home polished and guest-ready
Lead closet, cabinet, storage room, and garage refresh projects
Anticipate household needs and handle them before they become issues
Own kitchen operations end to end
Build weekly meal plans with the family, grocery shop, and manage food inventory
Prepare family dinners and ready-to-eat options, and pack school lunches
Keep the kitchen organized, clean, and reset after every meal
Follow family dietary preferences, including some gluten-free and dairy-free needs
Serve as a warm, trusted extension of the parents
Support morning flow, breakfast, lunch packing, and school readiness
Provide after-school support and an extra set of hands during busy stretches
Help with activities, transportation coordination, and evening and bedtime routines
Create calm, consistent routines that help the children feel settled and secure
Support family outings, special events, and occasional travel
Manage household calendars, recurring tasks, supplies, and seasonal planning
Coordinate and quality-check vendors, including landscaping, pest control, cleaning, pool service, and others as needed
Track inventory, handle purchasing, and keep the home well stocked
Oversee household projects from planning through completion
Build and improve systems, and operate independently with strong judgment
Who This Is a Great Fit For
This role is an excellent next step for professionals who know how to deliver warm, organized, anticipatory service, especially those coming from hospitality. If you have managed a hotel, run front-of-house in a restaurant, led guest services, or coordinated events, you already have the instincts this family is looking for: high standards, grace under pressure, sharp attention to detail, and a natural ability to make people feel cared for. This is a chance to bring that same five-star experience into one family's home.
The ideal candidate is:
Warm, engaging, and naturally relational
Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
Proactive and anticipatory rather than reactive
Calm under pressure and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
Confident making decisions independently
Experienced supporting families or busy, service-oriented environments
Comfortable with both hands-on execution and bigger-picture planning
Respectful of the family's Christian faith and values
Looking for a long-term role and a lasting relationship with a growing family
What Success Looks Like
Within the first six months, household operations run smoothly with minimal oversight. Laundry, meals, and organization are consistently handled, systems are strengthened, and the parents feel a real reduction in mental load. The home stays organized, functional, and ready for the rhythm of a busy family of six, and the family gains more time for the things that matter most.
