Responsibilities

Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems
Diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to identify and implement long-term corrective actions
Support equipment reliability initiatives focused on reducing downtime and improving operational performance
Lead machine Gemba walks, equipment inspections, and reliability assessments
Direct maintenance technicians and external contractors during troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installations

Support and troubleshoot PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automation systems
Assist with PLC programming modifications and control system improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability
Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve controls-related issues

Lead and coordinate installation, startup, and commissioning of industrial equipment, machinery, and automation systems
Support capital improvement projects and equipment upgrades
Coordinate activities with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders
Assist with equipment modifications and continuous improvement initiatives

Develop and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Identify required replacement parts and assist with procurement planning
Evaluate aging equipment and recommend upgrades, replacements, or process improvements
Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, reliability, productivity, and cost reduction

Interpret and maintain technical documentation including schematics, P&IDs, equipment manuals, engineering drawings, and specifications
Support CAD-based updates to equipment layouts and mechanical drawings
Ensure equipment and maintenance activities comply with company standards, regulatory requirements, and safety policies

Requirements

Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, or a related technical field preferred
Equivalent combination of education and relevant industrial experience will be considered
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience supporting industrial manufacturing equipment
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and automated systems
Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems
Experience with equipment installation, maintenance planning, and reliability improvement initiatives
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and technical specifications
Experience with CAD software is preferred
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Experience in metals manufacturing, heavy industry, process manufacturing, or industrial production environments preferred
