Responsibilities

Interactive Brokers is seeking an Estates processing analyst to join our team. This critical, client facing role requires a seasoned professional for the following tasks: 

  • Review and validate estate documentation including death certificates, letters of testamentary, probate documents, and executor authorizations.
  • Coordinate the transfer or liquidation of securities, options, futures, and other financial instruments held in deceased accounts.
  • Ensure proper handling of outstanding trades, margin positions, and corporate actions for deceased accounts.
  • Liaise with legal counsel and compliance teams on complex or high-value estate matters. 

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in Finance, Law or Engineering.
  • Experience with estates processing and/or cross-border asset transfers.
  • Knowledge of estate planning strategies and trust structures preferable.
  • Experience working in a global financial institution.
  • French, German, Spanish or other European languages advantages.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business, finance, or accounting preferred or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or similar Compliance diploma or accreditation
  • At least 2+ years’ experience in transaction monitoring for financial crimes, in particular with regard to domestic and international payment activities, preferably gained at a large broker or other financial institution with a European client base or an EU regulator
  • Experience identifying red flags/typologies associated with financial crimes; experience using SQL (or similar) to query relevant activity is advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of local regulations and European Directives in connection with documenting risk-based decisions and conclusions regarding potentially suspicious activity
  • Proven analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and direct experience escalating high-risk issues to management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a small team as well as independently  
  • Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Above all you are an active hands on person able to deliver quality and volume.
