Interactive Brokers Hong Kong Limited (“IBHK”) is seeking a Securities Lending Trader for the APAC region. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, problem-solving, and has the ability to interact with internal parties and external parties. This position requires the ability to swiftly master and utilize the firm’s proprietary Treasury and Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) platforms in order to execute daily responsibilities.

The Securities Lending Trader APAC will be responsible for carrying out the daily short-covering of Asian listed equities and ETFs, as well as lending out the company’s long inventory to its counterparties. The tracking and resolution of potential exchange- and stock loan-related fails, as well as of internal and external stock recalls are an ongoing daily responsibility. The Securities Lending Trader APAC is expected to operate, enhance and test the Group’s constantly evolving in-house systems and solutions.
The Securities Lending Trader APAC will be reporting to the Head of SLB & Securities Financing APAC.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Execute and negotiate securities lending and borrowing transactions across APAC markets with a focus on optimizing revenue and minimizing costs
- →Actively manage and grow the securities lending book by identifying and capitalizing on trading opportunities across the APAC region
- →Build and maintain strong relationships with prime brokers across APAC markets
- →Monitor real-time market conditions and adjust trading strategies to respond to demand, supply, and pricing dynamics in the securities lending market
- →Monitor and resolving in-house equity segregation deficits
- →Represent the firm in facing counterparties and vendors
- →Constantly evaluate systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend enhancements
- →Support the Head SLB - APAC in strategic local decision making
Requirements
~1 min read- Solid academic background (minimum Bachelor’s degree) showing strong knowledge in Mathematics, Science, Accounting, Finance or Business
- High degree of comfort and fluency with computers and technology, and understanding of how technology is applied to business or an ability to develop this rapidly
- A two year minimum of experience in the Asian Securities Lending industry is required
- Experience in Treasury/Operations/Clearing is a plus
- Professional English skills are required, any other languages are a plus
- Logical approach to problem solving
- Detail oriented with solid math skills
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks
- Self-motivated and energetic
- Professional demeanor with good communication skills
- Intermediate to high level of proficiency in MS-Excel
- Ability to work in a small-team environment with a servicing attitude
