Mitigation Field Production Supervisor
Paul Davis Restoration of Downriver Detroit

Position Summary

At Paul Davis Restoration of Downriver Detroit, we don’t just mitigate property damage. We help people through some of the most stressful moments of their lives.

The Mitigation Field Production Supervisor is responsible for the successful execution of all daily field operations. This leader oversees multiple mitigation crews, ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with Paul Davis standards.

While the Mitigation Operations Manager owns the overall performance of the department, the Field Production Supervisor owns today’s production. This role transforms operational plans into exceptional field execution by leading crews, maintaining quality standards, developing technicians, ensuring complete documentation, protecting the customer experience, and solving problems before they impact production.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You won’t be assigned to a single crew. Instead, you’ll provide leadership across multiple active projects, serving as the first point of contact for Lead Technicians while maintaining visibility across every job in progress.

Areas of Responsibility

Field Production Leadership

  • Lead the daily execution of all mitigation field operations.
  • Supervise multiple mitigation crews while maintaining consistent production standards.
  • Visit every active project regularly to monitor progress, quality, customer satisfaction, and crew performance.
  • Ensure crews remain productive, prepared, and focused throughout the workday.
  • Remove obstacles that prevent efficient job completion.
  • Coordinate closely with the Mitigation Operations Manager to execute daily production priorities.
  • Serve as the primary field resource for Lead Technicians and escalate issues only when necessary.

Crew Leadership & Development

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Lead Technicians and Mitigation Technicians through regular field training.
  • Reinforce company standards through real-time coaching and accountability.
  • Establish clear expectations for workmanship, professionalism, urgency, communication, punctuality, and customer service.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new employees.
  • Identify future leaders and support their development.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across all crews.

Production Quality & Documentation

  • Ensure every project meets Paul Davis, IICRC, insurance carrier, and company quality standards.
  • Verify that crews complete all required documentation before jobs are considered complete.
  • Ensure photographs, MICA/Mitigate documentation, moisture readings, equipment logs, sketches, notes, and syncing are completed accurately and on time.
  • Verify proper containment, demolition, drying plans, equipment placement, and daily production activities.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections throughout active projects.
  • Eliminate callbacks by identifying and correcting deficiencies before crews leave the job site.
  • Reinforce the company standard:
“If it’s not documented and synced, it’s not done.”

Customer Experience & Opportunity Recognition

  • Ensure homeowners understand the work being performed, what comes next, and who to contact with questions.
  • Verify customer satisfaction throughout each project and before crews leave the job site.
  • Resolve customer concerns in the field before they become complaints.
  • Create customer experiences worthy of five-star Google reviews, outstanding survey results, and future referrals.
  • Identify appropriate opportunities to request Google reviews and customer feedback.
  • Recognize opportunities for additional services, including reconstruction, contents restoration, specialty cleaning, environmental services, and appropriate self-pay work.
  • Identify scope changes early and communicate opportunities promptly to the Mitigation Operations Manager.
  • Help homeowners understand available options through honest education and professional guidance.

Technical Leadership

  • Maintain the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to lead by example.
  • Be capable of stepping into mitigation work, documentation, equipment setup, drying verification, estimating support, or technical problem-solving whenever operationally necessary.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Xactimate, Symbility, DocuSketch, moisture mapping, psychrometrics, IICRC standards, and restoration best practices.
  • Earn the confidence of technicians through technical competence and field leadership.

Equipment & Fleet Readiness

  • Ensure mitigation equipment is clean, maintained, inventoried, and deployment-ready.
  • Monitor equipment utilization and communicate repair or replacement needs.
  • Verify trucks are stocked, organized, and prepared for daily operations.
  • Protect company equipment through proper accountability and preventive maintenance.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety on every project.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, IICRC standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Verify proper PPE usage and safe work practices.
  • Conduct routine field safety observations.
  • Address unsafe conditions immediately.

Field Performance & Operational Excellence

  • Monitor crew productivity, production quality, documentation completion, drying performance, equipment utilization, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify recurring field issues and recommend long-term improvements.
  • Help develop systems that improve consistency, efficiency, and production quality.
  • Maintain high production standards while continuously improving field operations.

Emergency Response

  • Participate in the rotating field on-call schedule, including some after-hours, holiday, and weekend responsibilities.
  • Respond to emergency losses when scheduled.
  • Provide field leadership during emergency situations.
  • Support the Mitigation Operations Manager during catastrophic weather events, commercial losses, or periods of high call volume.

Brand Representation

  • Represent Paul Davis Restoration with professionalism, integrity, and pride.
  • Protect and strengthen the Paul Davis brand through exceptional workmanship, leadership, and customer care.
  • Build lasting relationships with homeowners, insurance professionals, vendors, and community partners.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for Paul Davis on every project.
  • Help grow the reputation of Paul Davis Restoration of Downriver Detroit through consistent execution and outstanding customer experiences.
