Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assess and determine the class, category, and origin of water damage.
  • Utilize drying equipment and position it according to IICRC guidelines.
  • Take moisture readings, create maps, and maintain records.
  • Determine when the affected area is dry and safe for further work.
  • Build and maintain containment as required.
  • Decide on the placement of containment and negative pressure.
  • Identify asbestos and mold risks, following IICRC safety protocols.
  • Represent Paul Davis with professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
  • Climb ladders and lift up to 75 pounds as required.
  • Work safely in confined spaces and around various approved chemicals.
  • Follow safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE when needed.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
  • Ability to use and maintain hand, power, and truck-mounted tools.
  • Ability to develop, learn, and apply operating and work procedures.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to follow both written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and clients.
  • Ability to meet predetermined deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to safely move and relocate heavy objects.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts as needed.
  • Strong team player, able to collaborate with employees, contractors/vendors, and the public.
  • Ability to identify and report hazards and apply safe work methods.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Industry Experience – At least 1+ year of restoration/mitigation experience.
  • Certifications (or willingness to obtain): Water Restoration (WRT), Fire & Smoke (FSRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), Asbestos Worker, or Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT).
  • Strong Work Ethic & Adaptability – The ability to work in fast-paced, unpredictable situations.
  • Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving Skills – Critical thinking and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Physical Stamina – Ability to lift 75+ lbs, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and handle physical labor.
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record.
  • Ability to Pass a Police Background Check.
Mitigation Technicians must hold or be working towards 2-4 certifications as part of their career development.
