This is an entry-level role built for someone finishing trade school or just out of it. You do not need to know how to dry a building. You need to show up, work hard, listen, and want to learn. We teach you the trade and we pay for your certifications.

Reports To: Mitigation Manager

Paul Davis is an industry leader in restoration and reconstruction for insurance providers and commercial properties throughout the United States and Canada. When a pipe bursts at 2am or a fire takes out a floor, we are who gets called. Our crews are first on site after disasters strike, and they lead the effort to restore the property.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Support the mitigation crew on water, fire, and mold jobs across Miami Beach, Miami, Doral, North Miami and Hialeah
  • Move and set equipment -- air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers
  • Demolition: remove wet carpet and pad, cut out damaged drywall, haul debris
  • Help build containment and follow all PPE and safety protocols
  • Load, unload, and keep the truck clean, stocked and organized
  • Assist with contents pack-out, tarping and board-up
  • Help in the warehouse when crews are not running
  • Learn the trade from technicians who have done it for years

  • Trade school. This one is not negotiable. You must be currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, a trade or vocational program -- HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction, building trades, welding or similar. We are hiring people we intend to develop into certified technicians, and that is who this role is for.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with a clean record, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 75 LBS frequently and be on your feet all day
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends and overtime when a job calls for it
  • Show up on time, every time
  • Willingness to learn and take direction

  • Restoration experience
  • IICRC certification
  • A college degree

Nice to Have

~1 min read
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • OSHA 10
  • Any hands-on shop, lab or job site time from your program

This is the first rung, not a dead end. Our company grows from the inside.
  • Helper -- where you start
  • Mitigation Technician -- after you earn your IICRC WRT, which we pay for
  • Crew Lead and Mitigation Manager -- for the people who want it
We tell you this up front because we would rather build technicians than rent them.
