Responsibilities

Manage and Direct Shop and Warehouse Operations

- Oversee daily shop and warehouse operations

- Lead fabrication, inventory, and material flow from start to finish

- Maintain an organized, efficient, and productive work environment

-Respond to emergency calls and support urgent field operations as needed

Manage Inventory, Purchasing, and Materials

- Manage inventory of pipe, fittings, valves, hangers, and sprinkler heads

- Forecast material needs based on project schedules

- Create and manage purchase orders (POs)

- Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely deliveries

Control Costs and Support Profitability

- Monitor material costs and identify savings opportunities

- Negotiate pricing with suppliers

- Reduce waste and control expenditures

Coordinate Field Operations Support

- Ensure crews have required materials and tools

- Stage jobs and coordinate deliveries

- Resolve material issues impacting productivity

Lead and Develop Shop Personnel

- Supervise, train, and mentor staff

- Assign tasks and manage schedules

Oversee Equipment and Facility Operations

- Maintain shop equipment and vehicles

- Keep shop clean and organized

Ensure Safety and Compliance

- Enforce OSHA standards

- Ensure compliance with NFPA codes

Utilize Systems and Reporting

- Use Salesforce to track materials and jobs

- Maintain accurate records and reporting

Requirements

- Experience in fire protection, construction, or mechanical operations

- Knowledge of sprinkler systems

- Leadership experience

- Strong organizational skills

- Experience with purchasing systems and POs

- Salesforce experience preferred
