Behavior Health Technician

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and clinically curious technician to support behavioral health and cognitive evaluation services for patients across IU Health. Also known as a Behavioral Health Rater, this role works closely with providers and research teams to perform structured cognitive evaluations for patients with dementia and Alzheimer's, helping generate cognitive scores that inform next steps in patient care. With a primary focus on clinical evaluations, particularly for patients being assessed for infusion drug therapy programs. This role sits at the intersection of patient care and neuroscience research.

Shift: Full time, Monday – Friday, onsite
Location: Indianapolis, IN
The Scope:
This role supports the Neurology Department including:
- Administers and scores standardized neuropsychological tests for patients being seen in the IU Health Behavioral Neurology clinics and Brain Health program.
- Generating cognitive scores to support clinical decision-making and care planning
- Supporting patient evaluations for infusion drug therapy program eligibility
- Collaborating with providers, clinical staff, and research teams to deliver consistent, high-quality evaluations
- Participating in research-related cognitive evaluations as needed
- Providing basic patient care and overseeing the safety and security of patients under supervision of the professional behavioral health team
- Making trained observations and reporting to the mental health team or designated member
Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for this position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or science /health related field is strongly preferred
Requires 1-3 years of relevant experience.
Requires basic computer skills.
