Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our team in the role of Intern. This position is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - 8 hours a day, on site at the Getaway office in Indianapolis, IN. This internship will start late June and end in late August.
This position is open to currently enrolled sophomores or juniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate.
The Real Estate Intern will support IU Health’s corporate real estate and system strategy initiatives that shape the future of the state’s largest healthcare system. This role blends analytical work, exposure to large-scale healthcare planning, and hands-on experience with real estate transactions that directly influence patient access, operational efficiency, and long-term system growth.
You’ll work alongside leaders in real estate, finance, and operations to evaluate opportunities, model financial outcomes, and contribute to strategic recommendations for IU Health’s statewide portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Modeling & Transaction Analysis
Build and refine financial models for acquisitions, dispositions, leases, and development opportunities.
Analyze deal structures, cash flows, valuation metrics, and scenario outcomes to support decision-making.
Prepare summaries and presentations that translate financial insights into strategic recommendations.
Strategic System & Real Estate Initiatives
Assist in evaluating market expansion opportunities and long-range facility planning.
Support portfolio optimization efforts.
Project Support
Support transaction managers on active real estate initiatives, including due diligence, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
Contribute to dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.

Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
Requires current enrollment in an Associate's, Bachelor's, and/or Master's Degree Program.
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate.
Candidates pursuing degrees in a healthcare related field are preferred.
Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including comfort with Excel-based modeling.
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally.
Interest in healthcare delivery, real estate strategy, and large-scale capital planning.
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
