Grounds Worker

• →Ability to work in extreme weather conditions…Hot and Cold Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting heavy objects up to 75lb
• →Attentive to detail, a self-starter, and ability to work without close supervision. Excellent communication skills; discerning and tactful
• →Willingness to serve in any capacity determined by any member of the Grounds Department leadership team. Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
• →Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and the general public. May be required to work overtime as directed by supervision
• →Supervise and direct student worker pool as necessary

• High School Diploma

• Two (2) years of relative experience in a grounds/maintenance related field

• Ability to operate such equipment as hand and power mowers, front-end loaders, tractors, spraying equipment, and hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
• Considerable knowledge of standard hand and power tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance activities
• Considerable knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to the use of tools and equipment related to grounds maintenance
• Must have a valid driver's license
