Wildcat Farm Horticulture Intern (Temporary)

• →Assist with a variety of community garden tasks and projects, consisting of both hands-on outdoor work and indoor administrative tasks 
• →Supervise the high school cultivator apprentices in their garden tasks and projects 
• →Build and foster the sense of community at our gardens, including but not limited to planning and facilitating garden events, workdays, and workshops
• →Assist with planting, maintenance, and harvesting of Thriving vegetable garden 
• →Assist with planting, maintenance, and harvesting of Mississinewa School gardens 
• →Assist with mowing, weed-whacking, and other regular garden maintenance 
• →Assist with communications and outreach to community gardeners and volunteers
• →Assist with marketing, website support, social media and audio/visual content generation 

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science degree in a related field and one year of working in the horticultural field is preferred

• Proven ability to complete assigned tasks and projects; meet deadlines; and manage multiple tasks

• Capability to supervise others (including apprentices and volunteers) with daily garden tasks
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 40 lb. Carrying bags of soil, transferring mulch, planting, and heavy lifting are all regular aspects of this position. Work is primarily outdoors, therefore, candidate must also have the ability to and be willing to work in a variety of conditions including heat, cold and rain
